Remarks by the Head of Study Program

COORDINATOR'S WELCOME

Welcome to the Visual Communication Design (CCD) Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta.

The DKV Study Program has a long history in the world of art and design education in Indonesia. In 1969 with the name of the Department of Advertising Art At ASRI, this department became one of the pioneers of visual communication design education in Indonesia. Along with the development of science, industry needs, and the dynamics of society, in 1980 the name of the Department of Advertising Art officially changed to the Visual Communication Design Study Program and continues to grow until now.

As a superior and dynamic academic space, the DKV Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta integrates a research approach, multidisciplinary collaboration, and local wisdom values in every aspect of education that is adaptive to the times. This study program is designed to produce graduates who not only have artistic, conceptual, and technical competencies, but are also able to compete at the national and international levels, and have a leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Our curriculum is holistically structured to form designers who are sensitive to social and cultural issues, and ready to make a real contribution to society and the creative industry.

With a conducive academic atmosphere, experienced lecturers, and support facilities that are continuously developed, we believe that every student has the potential to grow and develop optimally. We invite you to be part of a progressive, reflective, and innovative Visual Communication Design Study Program. Together, we build a more inclusive, sustainable, and impactful future of design.
